Changes:

- Document.dat of psx games were broken due to some important changes in popsman.prx and now is fixed.
Plus, now document.dat does not need the same gameid as game which is played.

- The compatibility issue with irshell loading psx games in usbhost/nethost has been solved.

- Changes in recovery:

1. Removed the advanced config option "use isofs on UMD inserted", as it is not useful now.
2. Added "Format flash1 and restore settings" in Advanced.
3. Added speeds 20 and 100.
4. When in usb mode inside recovery, it is impossible to turn PSP off.

- The chineses and korean languages did not work in XMB, because they crashed homebrew and recovery.
The issue has been fixed, but korean font is not there, so you need to take it with psardumper from official updater, and put it in flash0:/font/kr0.pgf.

- M33 driver: fixed SBK07, now it work.

With this release we also a plugin to load pops from 3.40, 3.51, and 3.52.
The plugin works in 3.51 M33 and 3.52 M33. In 3.51 M33 you won't see option "3.51", and in 3.52 M33
you won't see option "3.52" (use original from flash for same firmware).

Instructions: copy seplugins to the root of the memory stick. Extract the following prx of a firmware: /kd/popsman.prx, /kd/pops.prx, /vsh/modules/libpspvmc.prx and /vsh/modules/pafmini.prx and copy them to /seplugins/popsloader/ with names like popsman3XX, pops3XX.prx, libpspvmc3XX.prx, pafmini3XX.prx, where XX is 40, 51, or 52.

Activate the plugin in recovery and done! First time you run a game, it will let you choose pops version.
Next time will remember configuration for each game; press R to change it.

The plugin doesn't apply to psn games.

3.52 M33 popsloader w/ 3.11 pops

M33 Team, your CFW is AWESOME!!! :yahoo:and thank you!! But I have a favor to ask.... Can you please add this feature where 3.11 pops can be enabled on the popsloader to your next cfw m33 update. Because most PSX games work better on the 3.11 pops and it would be great if you do that :D.

ex. Ehrgeiz (PSX) hangs w/ black screen after the Warning logo, but with 3.11 pops enabled it play just fine. Final Fantasy VI (PSX) When you save and start a continue saved game, it will say invalid saved and not load the save data, but with 3.11 pops enabled it plays fine.

So, please have that on the next update, thanks. It would help me and other people as well.

After formatting flash1 need to create all default folders, and not registry folder only.

RomRuto: For now it is hard because the old pops are incompatible with the new. It might be done in further release.

GVr: Normally, the VSH creates the folders on BSOD automatically. I will check.

Hey guys glad to see you got an English forum now, though reging was a pain :P

Quick question on PRX of old. Do you have any idea of what causes the cheat device prx (cheatdevice.com) to crash in the recent Sony firmwares. The Last firmware it didnt crash on was 3.03.

At current it still loads and works, but crashes very quickly and was wondering if you would know the cause and any possible solution besides emulation of a previous firmware.

And ofcorse, thanks for all the great contributions to the scene on behalf of the Maxconsole comunity. :)

Great job on the firmware! My PSP was messed up for a good time and I got it back in time of the 3.51 release.

I've been having some problems with POPS though... No EBOOT I created works (black screen and redirect to XMB after the warning screen). I'm converting my Castlevania SOTN again as I write... Going to try PopsLoader once again...

Anyway I hope you sort this out in a future update.

I also have some suggestions:

1- Always release an eboot to launch the recovery menu from the XMB (quite useful to avoid rebooting the PSP...). Having an icon in the Settings section of the XMB also seems nice (you'd just need a nice XMB style icon for it).

2- Options in the registry hacks to hide the Network Update, Firmware Update (hide updates that come inside the UMD... much like the AntiUpdate plugin), Camera, Remote Play and LocatioFree Player (maybe even the Activate WMA and Activate Flash Player since you can activate it in the recovery menu... or at least hide them after they are activated). Maybe some other stuff useless to most users...

3- An app/recovery menu function to remove stuff useless to most users (the Camera, GPS, PS3, LocationFree... maybe even Character sets and languages). Besides removing these it would be nice not to see anything in the XMB that proved they ever existed (for instance you can delete the fonts but they will still show in the Character Set). Just for the sake of free flash space for theme modders (though there is this plugin called CXMB that allows to load themes fromt the MS instead of the PSP flash).

4- Option in the registry hacks to disable the boot video (not the SCE one... the white one with the PSP that plays whenever you launch a game... that is if it's even possible).

What do you think?

P.S: Agh... From the answer I got from the MaxConsole UP forum, my problem with the POPS is that you can't clock the cpu to 333 in the UP nand... It affects everything that clocks the cpu to 333 (homebrew, isos, umds...). So here's another suggestion (pretty please on this one...):

5- Hybrid firmware for Undiluted Platinum owners:

After the Epsilon and UP team left the chip with almost no support DAX was the only one who released code made for the owners of this hardware mod (he released the 3.03-3-10 OE Mix and a UP nand flasher tool for the PC).
The UP has generated some issues to several users (including me, causing my PSP to be semi-bricked for 6 months for strange reasons... maybe idStorage) and proved not to be as safe as advertised. However the advantage that remains is the ability to connect to the PC to flash a firmware to the UP nand which can then restore the PSP onboard nand (at least using the Epsilon bios).

The Epsilon bios (and later the OE Mix from Dark Alex) allowed UP users to enjoy their PSP like if they had a single firmware. It avoided the need to swich between firmwares and press L on boot to launch the PSP.

I don't know if anyone in the team has an Undiluted Platinum mod but what I would like to ask is something in the line of those hybrid firmwares...

I'm not a coder but what I think is needed for this to work is:

UP nand:
a) code that redirects boot when turning the PSP on or coming out of the sleep mode to the PSP onboard nand
b) tweaked recovery menu that works like the one currently in all M33 firmwares but which changes apply to the PSP onboard nand firmware and has the capability to restore a firmware to either nand (can restore a firmware to the UP and PSP nand)

*In order for it to be able to run a Sony official EBOOT or a custom firmware installer maybe the 1.5 official EBOOT would be needed when generating the UP nand firmware installer
*Registry values are always written to the PSP nand (unless when running the recovery to install a firmware in the UP nand)
*Updates (for this nand firmware) could be run from the recovery console if newer firmwares (for the PSP nand) require a recovery console update

PSP nand:
a) Normal M33 firmware (I don't think any change would be required)

I don't know if any member in the team had a modded PSP with an UP in order to develop this...
This would be awsome for UP users!

Sorry if I'm asking for too much...

Thank you M33!

I love your cfw very much!

And one request, is there any possibility to hack the wlan.prx (or some other modules) so adhoc wifi can be supported without irshell?

First of all, I would like to thank you guys for continuing the custome firmwares.

I would like to report a bug, that existed since OE
XMB --> Settings --> System Settings --> UMD Auto start
when this option is set to on (while having a UMD inserted) the PSP wont boot to the game.

in other terms, do the steps above, turn of your psp, turn it on again and it you will get a black screen after the gameboot (the psp logo)

no costumizations were made to the psp incase you were wondering..

Others have confirmed this bug as well.

Thanks again =)

@Nnemo: R = Recovery, easy to remember...

@wildon: We are researching on it, but it seems something is in idstorage UMDman key which is signchecked.

@PS2MAN: The developer needs to update his application.

@frmariam: The first 4 are possible by making a VSH plugin and by using an RCO and VSH prx editor. We do not have UP, so it is hard to test.

@ppyyf: Curious. We need to see why. Did you edit MAC addr? It breaks adhoc.

@Madridi4ever: We will check.

@alex1089: popsloader is for loading the Sony PSX emulator of different firmwares.

We do not have UP, so it is hard to test.

Pitty... but I was expecting it... I think DAX deved it because he owned one and it made it more convenient for dayly usage (I did post in lan.st at the time... maybe it was something he already was using himself and then decided to release...). This was the one thing I wanted the most but without the hardware to dev it I recon there's nothig you can do...

How can a commercial team leave a product with no support at all...

The first 4 are possible by making a VSH plugin and by using an RCO and VSH prx editor.

I'll spread the idea (thats what ppl who can't code do... they annoy others :o). Hope someone likes it enough to make it reallity. It'd be a nice plugin (I recon maybe it doen't deserve the precious flash0 space... unless those parts of the firmware were also stripped... I'll see how the authors of the UFO or Deflasher feel about this).

Hope to see what you have planned for next :)

i have one pro that is the 8gb memstick, so the homebrews an the plugins must be copied in the fir part of 4gb, so if i have alredy use 6gb i must delete things on the MS to add an plugin.
for me its not the best solution, so is there an possibility to solve this problem??

@Madridi4ever: We will check.

Thanks.. =)

and I have a suggestion.
Is there any way we can edit pspbtcnf.bin file and any others needed somehow like we used to in previous firmwares where they were txt files?
if not, is it possible to be done?

I think I'm slightly confused here. I have a v3.50 PSP non-modded on the TA-082 board. Will this work for me? If not, do I need to upgrade to 3.51 or 3.52?

Thanks in advance.

wildon
13.08.2007, 10:40
Do not upgrade from v3.50 if you want to enjoy homebrew, backup games and install custom firmware....

All you have to do is Find a LUMINES UMD and downgrade your PSP to v.150 with the help of Noobz 3.50 downgrader(Which needs the LUMINES UMD) and then install Custom firmware 3.52M33-2
