First let me say how much I love the work of the M33 team, thank you so much! Now heres the thing, what is the story behind 3:33:33? specifically why is the date set to "when the sun shown in the dark or night" on 3.51M33? does it have anything to do with the Multiwavelength Messier 33 spiral galaxy? is it just a coincidence that the Uncertainty Major and Ellipse Minor are 1.50E+00? see link http://www.seds.org/messier/xtra/supp/m_NED.html#m33 which is the same firmware version that is needed to add support for unsigned code to CFW? Please let me know, many people over at the Sony forums (for the us) are very curious. thanks again.

That sounds good (( Multiwavelength Messier 33 spiral galaxy )) and vodkkaa your right I looked and there is a galaxy.prx (( What does that prx do )) look at this here (http://seds.org/messier/m/m033.html)

was the galaxy.prx something that was added by M33 though or something that is common to all firmwares though?

Oh and I forgot to mention in my earlier post that the Arabic Numeral 3 (thats the system of numbers we use) looks the same as the Cyrillic letter зэ (its pronounced like the z in zoo) M also being a Cyrillic letter I wonder is M33 a Russian word? google search for it turned up some odd things, a bit of a philosophy text, and a Russian myspace equivalent. my Russian isn't great but it's good enough to know neither of those things were relevent.

I really wish they'd clue us in to the meaning behind M33 (and that March 33rd calendar thing), a little out of curiosity but mostly because I love the number 3 and it bothers me not knowing.

galaxy.prx is a M33 module that patches np9660.prx so we can load iso's off of it. (from what i have heard)

'M33' typed in Cyrilic letters (like 'мзз') doesn't mean any russian word.

if you look at the uncompressed version, you'll see

SceNpUmdMount
sceNp9660_driver

which leads me to believe its the file that patches np9660

3:33:33 means when the time machinist perfected the time machine from other galaxy and went back to our time in our galaxy and trained M33 to make custom firmwares, lol........

wow, just found http://www.tradebit.com/filedetail.php/1311880
apparently theres a bluegrass style song called March 33rd

There remains a small part of me that can not help but think M33 is a reference to something obscure or distinctly Russian enough that I will never understand it. Perhaps it's nothing but I like to think it's referenced by the Russian equivalent of Charles Hoy Fort (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Hoy_Fort) (the same for Russian speakers Форт, Чарльз Гой (http://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%A4%D0%BE%D1%80%D1%82%2C_%D0%A7%D0%B0%D1%80%D0%BB%D1%8C%D0%B7_%D0%93%D0%BE%D0 %B9)) Like M33s work is some special and damned work rejected by the mainstream and embraced and understood only by the courageous few. (if you found any of that last bit interesting why not read The Book of the Damned (http://www.resologist.net/damnei.htm) sorry but I couldn't find a Russian translation.)

Sorry to double post and all but here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galaxies_in_fiction#Triangulum_Galaxy)here are the mentions of the M33 Galaxy in Science Fiction.
the weird part is I think my father might actually have some old Yoko Tsuno comics, freaky.

jeffthree

M33 it is the name of the spiral galaxy.

Messier Object 33 is a spiral galaxy in the constellation Triangulum. A Messier Object is just an astronomical object that was catalogued by Charles Messier. The objects include from star clusters, nebulae, remnants of super novae, double stars, galaxies, and asterisms. Object 33 is a galaxy.

hows this for coincidence; if you attempt a Messier Marathon (thats where you try to view all the Messier Objects in one night) then (if you follow the recommended order) M33 is the third object you should sight!

So apparently back in 1895 (over 100 years after the discovery of M33) astronomers thought that M33 was the result of two planetary bodies smashing together. Custom firmwares are the result of combining 1.50 and some newer firmware, so maybe thats why Team M33 is called M33?

LOOK OUT! ZOMBIE THREAD! BACK FROM THE DEAD!!!!

This just in; so while downloading some music today I stumbled upon a band called [3:33]. It appears [3:33] is a Spanish language industrial band, and as we know dark alex is Spanish, so perhaps he was listening too, really likes, was inspired by, or has at least heard of [3:33].

If anyone really wants to give them a listen then take a look (http://lovepainfear.blogspot.com/search/label/%5B3%3A33%5D). (I totally advocate illegal music downloading so don't hit the link if that sort of thing bothers you.)
