I would like to request the addition of the feature to be added in so you can access flash 2 and 3 in the recovery mode...under advanced section...

It's kinda like a pet peev...knowing that they are there and there are programs to access them...but why not add it in so we can access all flashx in the firmware...

I can live without it but it would be nice to see..

Applications like these exist already, and it is useless to waste space on Flash to add the features. (flash2/3 are not really useful to access for recovery) Recovery is what it is -----> recovery :)

I think, someday becomes a non-overriding problem with space in flash0, and CFW become divided into flash0 part - part that needed to start CFW and another - plugin part - all other features of CFV that being plased and loaded from memory card.

i guess ill start off with some minor requests i have.
- choose recovery key config. instead of standard RTrigger the ability to choose any key like (LTRIGGER, UP, SELECT or WLAN UP)
-in registry hacks, ability to enable and disable UMD update from showing
-add more CPU/BUS speeds. 20MHz in vsh is way too slow. maybe 33MHz or 55MHz

as of now, only devhook running on normal CPU speed is able to use ratchet and clank infrastructure mode. i hope this would appear in the next update!

Just a request, I think we should have a N00b and a 1337 (sorry for the stupid leet speak) modes:

Basically, in N00b mode all access to flash (especially from the XMB) should be hidden

in leet mode, everything should be open, but the enabling of leet mode should be designed so that a noob can't simply turn it on.

My reason for this is that I have several friends and family that have had my flash their PSP's one in particular my 12 year old cousin, he's young and naive and doesn't yet understand how easily he can kill his PSP if he does something he shouldn't (which he has a nack for doing things he shouldn't)

Point is, if he did damage his PSP through the CFW i put on it I knw for sure I would be the one to get blame.

Either way, i think this would be useful for a lot of people, even so that we can just hide away features we don't want n00bs playing with should they catch hold of our PSP.

-mount usb mass storage device via vshmenu (not having to click on usb connection. just plug and go)
-subfolders for game menu (homebrew, back ups, emulators, etc.) if possible. (when going into memory stick under game you see subfolders and you open the folders and see the applications. like in memory stick under photos and music you can add subfolders.
-autokernel detection.
-ability to change colors of recovery menu (? possibly put a custom back ground ?)
-ability to change button trigger to access recovery (ability to change that through vshmenu as well)

First of all, great job M33, and i agree with the CFW protection against lamers.
Second i quote all the above and i would like to add, iso mount from HDD. To be able to play (preview) my games without actually having to load them into PSP.

Now that we have a universal downgrader, ther is a hope for CFW on the PSP2000,
And you have cracked the Sony loader, now my question, is the Sony loader a realy ISO loader to play games from MS, or is it maybe a part for the PSP2000 for the faster loading speed?? perheps this prog save files in the some cach?

I have some more idea.
-integration of theBuzzers usbmod into the XMB to load ISOs from USBhost automatically when it is being run on the PC. usbmod works by editing systemctrl and vshctrl to load ISO from uf0:/ (usbHost) instead of ms0:/ then it toggles usbhost with the square button. but becuase systemctrl seems to be sigchecked?? this is no longer possible and the automatic redirection instead of hitting square qould be nice.
-ability change the recovery config key from the recovery menu or vsh menu
and the most important and probably will revolutionize cfw forever:
-custom IPL to load the recovery modules from MS0:/RECOVERY when you brick to the point where you cant acces recovery. Also custom IPL to have the option in recovery to load a firmware from the MS. I have alrady posted a link to a sample custom IPL below in the forum for anyone that wants to tinker with it.

- bringing VHSMENU clocks PSP to 222 for a while until the exit of VHSMENU (this will stop problems with cannot changing cpu speed as left/right key is inaccurate, passing 2 or 3 options at a time)
- enabling auto-cpu-clocking, now VSHMENU prevents PSP from autoclocking when switching off LCD screen,but I like to underclock PSP, switch music and turn off the screen. Turning on the screen again should make PSP go back to speed set in VHSMENU.
- disabling original HOME key (pressng it in music player goes back to menu with music enabled)
- UMD access from recovery/xmb usb
- fixing some bugs with XMB flash access (I had terrible bug not being able to switch it off, I pressed O went back to XMB but it was still enabled and in "the back" of XMB)
- option preventing PSP to switch off music play when going to GAME or PHOTO or VIDEO tab in XMB (so I can listen to music everywhere in XMB, if I need to switch it off I should go back to MUSIC tab)

What I do with Japanese UMD Video Isos is rename without any Japanese characters in them to so that I won't any potential loading problems. Also, many people in other forums say that it's better to rename the original iso to a short iso name (maybe max 10 chars) so that there wouldn't be any potential problems.

The progressive / component video out only on games sucks! The official firmware of 3.60 doesn't allow you to output video in interlaced mode through any of the non-component cables!

I was hoping it would be possible to circumvent the psp from stopped you running a game with interlaced tv out. Right now it checks and says 'in order to play a game with tvout you must be in progressive mode).

On LCD HDTV's it makes the screensize tiny as its pixel for pixel (unless the tv has a zoom function. It just isn't the same experience as it was back in the day (say for NES emulation)

Well, ofcourse there is no TV-Out integrated in fat PSP, but I mentioned the USB connection to PC (and that there allready ARE some homebrew, that managed to stream data to PC while Playing).

The psp internet navigator is programmed by Sony and doenst have any relation with Mozilla. If you want an improvement of Internet Navigator you should ask it to Sony, or maybe some homebrew aplication...
Anyway, PSP device with 32MB have a lot of problems with a lot of pages...

I think the following little addons would be cool:
- Dynamic loading of Plugins like CWcheat, popsloader in the VSH home menu (The same way you can change CPU speed).
- Sleep , reset, power off option in VHS menu (same thing someone else suggested).
- Maybe prettier fonts/recovery menu. Preferably the same font sony uses for the POPS Home menu. I know its no big deal, it would just make the CFW integrate more seemingly into the official parts of the FW. Maybe this would not even possible due to RAM limitations, i dont know, but i read the wildcard firmware had a prettier Recovery menu hehe.

What about being able to auto-launch a song file when you start the PSP, so you can have an XMB background song, like on the Wii.

The recovery key change is still under study.. we won't probably implement it, as it's better to remember R = Recovery :)

Things like disabling the gameboot via the recovery, kernel autodetection, usb/nethostfs access, custom IPL use, tv/out, power vsh options, and other stuff that we have read might be studied.

VSH stuff like adding subfolders and submenus in XMB it's a bit messy, so probably it will be studied in the future.

About the basic/advanced recovery menu request, we won't probably make it, as the main advanced stuff is under "advanced" submenu.

@Be3f: We are awared about that, and we follow the investigations on that stuff. The best way to use right now 1.50 homebrew in slim is with noobz eloader1.0 (that modifies some 3.xx structure), as you might know.

Anyway, it's not too hard to modify the code to 3.xx kernel :P

The offical Sony Firmware is now at 3.71 for PSP Fat. So would it be possible to make a new update of M33?

Also make it a Easy Installer .exe file this time, because they are a quick way to upgrade and so far all of the 3 OE-A/M33 Easy Installers that I have downloaded so far didn't brick whatsoever, so I think that they are the way forwards for all offical M33 updates from now on.

Yeah, bottom line. I've had absoutely now problems with my PSP using any of the unoffical Easy Installers so getting them offically instead of the brick likely Zip Folders would be great, because all I'll have to do is click on my PSP drive and all of the files are put in the right places for installing.

So yeah that is truely the way forwards of Custom Firmware upgrading when you're already on an M33 Firmware.

There's already official multi disc game (ATHENA Awakening from the ordinary life), but to get it probably would be a problem (somebody from Japan?).

But if you could get that EBOOT, try to find out the way it works and allow every multidisc game to work without any swap tricks - that would be amazingly great!

I don't know if this has already been requested, but i think it would be great if 3.71M33 would be able to use compotise video out for games. (rather than only component).

i don't even know if this is possible. it would be great though.

really, the video games are probably the psp screen's resolution, the video resolution is full dvd resolution... why can you use composite (lower resolution) for video (higher resolutuion than games) but have to have component (higher resolution) for games (lower resolution than video...)?

my guess is either sony wants to get people to buy new tv's (dono why, they don't have a monopoly on tv's with component inputs) or games have to use progressive tv output... which i doubt...

While this might be a convenient feature for users who do not have a spare battery to use as a dedicated Pandora's Battery, it would use substantial space on Flash. There are homebrew apps for creating Pandora's Battery, combining them with the firmware will only complicate things. Please remember the GEN firmwares were not created or endorsed by M33. Semi-bricks may be corrected more simply by accessing flash0 with your computer and restoring it with a backup.

Currently the only option would be transliteration. Although I recall a homebrew called "recovery translator v3" or something similar I do not remember if it offered the Cyrillic alphabet but it may be worth looking into for your needs.
