Changes in M33-4 (mainly bugfix)

- Fixed the bug that caused CRC error when writing to flash usb in the XMB. Now writing
is OK.
- Added the new speeds to vshmenu and core, because we forgot in recovery.

AS we didnn't want to release a new update without something new, we worked in making
3.10/3.11 to work with popsloader, and that's it, the new popsloader plugins supports them.
Instruction for 3.10 and 3.11 are same as 3.30: you need pops.prx, popsman.prx and pafmini.prx
with the correct names in popsloader directory. And remember that savedata of 3.10-3.30 are incompatible
with those of 3.40+. We'll research if a solution for this is possible.

As for yankee paranoids, a little word about the "brickers" issue.
We repeat it again: THERE IS NO MALICIOUS CODE inside M33.
Some of the files of this update are protected by encryption schemes to protect ourselves
from that page that annoys homebrew developers.
The keys for the decryption: the own update file.
So if the file is changed, the decrypted data is not the original one, and this causes the
wrong data to be written. There is no way you can call this malicious code as there is no explicit
code to brick nothing, it is the corruption of the update what actually causes the bad decrypted
data to be written.

Anyways in this update we check if decrypted data is wrong and in that case we write a recovery
warning the user what happened. It will activate usb, and it will allow you to execute a recovery
eboot.pbp... in a curious path ("ms0:/PSP/GAME/PS3NEWS_ARE_STEALERS_I_AM_NOT_GONNA_VISIT_THEM/EBOOT.PBP")
which is not at sight of an hex editor ;)

If you visited ps3news and bricked in last release, then blame his administrator.
He is the one that modified the files and had them in the server for lots of hours
knowing the consequences.

hmm does anyobdy succesfully "unbricked" his psp. Got 2 psp, one was bricked during update. The SCreen just stay blank. IF I put an eboot in the the menitoned folder, the memory stick led starts flashing for a second. But after a hard reboot it still the same. Tried to re - update it , and tried the oe recovery and didn't work either. Any suggestions

For the time being our Forums are turned OFF. This is at the owner's request of former Web site PS2Ownz (which is the predecessor of where we reside today). Apparently what happened is M33 released a file which contains his personal data, and at this time we are kindly asking other Web sites to remove this information so that the harassment stops.

Respected PSP sceners including Dark_AleX have been in favor of this personal data attack, but their addresses and other personal info have NOT been published and we would like to end the bickering right now versus allowing it to escalate even further.

If this is acceptable then we will completely purge our Forums of all past releases and related posts, and only link to their official Web sites with their official releases from this time onward giving them full credit and donations as they wish.

If it is not acceptable then our only choice will be to defend ourselves by doing what was done to the PS2Ownz owner which we do not wish to be done to anyone.

BTW, I tried to install themes from XMB, and i softbricked everytime (10 different tries). I think it would be better to activate flash0 from XMB in read-only mode, and the writing option only from recovery or from an eboot (as usual).

nicely done m33, just installed the update and works great. Although i have a problem. When ever i set a background and play a game. Then when i close the game, i get these 2 icons called psp spot and poratble tv. Wondering how to fix that. My isof loader also gets disabled and then i have to go back into recovery and fix it. sounds kinda like the problem I had zaindapain, try this... you will lose all your settings but it will probably work, turn off your psp and go into recovery with r when turning back on, go to advanced, and do format flash1 and reset settings, after that do it once more, and it should fix the problem, it did for mine

ok first of all m-33 should be reciving the upmost respect you guys are doing things that would take evey one els 10x as long to accomplish ps3 news is dead the fucked up and now anybody with an iq of 5 oh higher is avoiding them if you don't take m33's word for it just search google there are hundreds of forum posts talking about how ps3 news has deleted their forum posts and screwed over many psp users with their bad download and now they are doing every thing in there power to cover it up. i have tried to sway everone i can to download directly from this site directly and cut out the middle man some people just wont register i have no sympothay for the bricked psp users they could have just downloaded from here the trusted source. so hahahahahahahaha serves you right for trusting a third party more than m33. If you have the official Sony firmware version 3.40, then you have to downgrade back to the firmware 1.50 using the Jigkick Battery method or with the Lumines-exploit.

If you don't know anyone with an custom firmware or firmware 1.50, then you should better use the Lumines-exploit. Try to google for downgrade lumines.

Yes, you need an emulator. Lucky for you, Sony built one in already. It is called pops. Google for tools to convert an ps1 game to an eboot. Lot's of nice tools are already made.
You should find one that is easy for you.

You can use the M33 creator (http://www.pspx.ru/forum/showthread.php?t=48920) and then upgrade with just M33-4 (http://pspx.ru/forum/showthread.php?p=497223#post497223). The M33 creator goes into /PSP/GAME150. In the M33 creator folder goes also the firmware 1.50 as 150.PBP and the firmware 3.52 as 352.PBP. Afterwards yo have to rename the GAME303 folder to GAME352.

The update M33-4 is a cumulative update. It has also the updates from M33-1, M33-2 and M33-3.

The update M33-4 is a cumulative update. It has also the updates from M33-1, M33-2 and M33-3. You should place the update in /PSP/GAME150/.

i'm a novice so please bear with me. after I unzipped the update #4 file, it shows two folders (along with other readme files). one folder says PSP and the other says some plugins. Do I put Eboot.pbp in the X:/PSP/GAME150 folder and then execute?

Answer:

Copy both folders to the root of your memstick. The update will be copied to right place on the memstick. The update will the appear in your XMB unde Game/memstick. You can execute it from there.

The seplugins-folder contains updates for the PS1 emulator (aka Popsloader). With this update you can select other emulators from different firmwares. Some PS1 games work better under an older version of the emulator.

Hopefully this answers your questions.

then if u dont have seplugins folder u can paste directly the seplugins automatically. close usb mode then go to game under memorystick find m33 update,click it. reboot ur psp hold R trigger for recovry menu.

In the Recovery menu you can change the behavior of your psp. be sure you know these functions as there is no user manual yet ive seen. i only use the no UMD game, clock speed to 333(runs bit faster), unlock both WMA and FLASHPLAYER, if you want to play PS1 games unlock popsloader.

Fixed problem - I had edited the PBP with "PSP Content Manager" to change the title and remove the background (just wanted to make my Pandora/Utility memory stick easier to read!!). Don't mess with the media is the lesson learnt!

No, that firmware must be installed from Sony firmware 1.50 or any other custom firmware. You must downgrade your PSP with the Pandora battery. You can not make one, because that requires a PSP with Sony firmware 1.50 or a custum firmware.

You need to find someone who has an older firmware 3.50 (or lower) or a custom firmware installed. The other one with a Sony firmware 3.50 (or lower) can be downgrade to Sony firmware 1.50. If the other one has an custom firmware the you can directly create a Pandora battery. You can use this guide (http://f6y.ath.cx/pspdev/PandoraGuide.html) to create an Pandora battery. The guide is made by FreePlay.

Maybe you can find someone who already has an Pandora battery. This link (http://www.darkmessiah.byethost13.com/freeservice.html) might help.

Create a directory named ISO in the root of your Memstick. Put your umd game backups in there. Create an directory named VIDEO in the folder ISO. Your umd video backups go in there.
