Hello, I was wondering, if you're planning to release a 3.70 CF for the Japanese PSP or only a 3.71 CF for others country ?
If not, that means that we'll have to wait for sony to make another firmware upgrade to have a CF for the Japanese PSP.

Thanks again for your custom firmwares, they are really great.

I'm not sure, but Sony updates never were region-based. Try download US and JP 3.70 eboot, it's EXACTLY same file (1:1). I don't know why sony didn't release japanese 3.71, but I guess it's possible to install EU or US one on japanese unit.

in 3.71 there hiden some icons for service's that aren't in America.

For Japanise users this changes don't needed.

The 3.70-3.71 update is mostes needless in PSP history :)

But I don't want the US firmware, I wanna keep the japanese bonuses and the japanese butons (X/O).
I always made the custom firmware with the japanese eboot.

u can set the fake region to be japanese from the recovery- configuration. From registry hacks u can set O/X buttons ;)

@Lenmaer

I also have japanese unit, and I can assure you, that region of EBOOTs taken for making PSAR for flashing, has no meaning. I sometimes use US, sometime JP, or even mix (1.50 EU and for example 3.52 US). It's not important, because keayassign is not in the update, but in registry (my guess).

In acient times, when i get my japanese unit with 1.52 OFW, I updated it with US 2.00 EBOOT, and then downed (tiff exploit) with EU 1.50 eboot. The keyassign was alwas the same (O - enter). As brun0 said: u can always use registry hacks build in CF to set key you dissire, and to set region for japan.

I don't wanna try with a firmware from another region, I prefer wait for an unified CF, and registry hacking is not the same as original (some games don't recognize the button registration hack).
I though the 1.50 firmware only came out in Japan?

the EBOOTs are ALL identical (check md5 values), your region info is contained in flash1 NOT flash0, so you can change x/o buttons in registry hacks if you so wish

Actually the region is contained in the idstorage and cannot be changed...

Trust me when you install any firmware on the jap psp it see's it's a jap and will install as so...and function as a jap....there would be no need to registry hack the buttons. matter of fact if you registry hack the buttons it would make the X as enter and not o....because the jap is default to O
