I once suggested this but it was in an older frimware version suggestion thread and since these get deleted when new versions come out... Sorry for asking again so shamelessly. I also asked Team Wildcard over at Lan.st. I just wanted to take the chance since Dark_Alex is still active (though I read that he would just release an unbricker now... Couldn't this follow the unbricker and be the one last thing instead?).
This is the one thing I keep waiting to get released (regardless of the author...). There are so few UP owners...
What I ask is a permanent solution for the UP clock limition (the whole L trigger hassle when you run stuff at 333MHz because it has to be from the onboard nand). My PSP was pretty messed because of this in the past (just couldn't get a stable fw instalation on either nand after a crash while just playing Tekken DR...).
How about an update on the old 3.03-3.10 OE Mix firmware code to get permanent solution for this (independent of firmware version on the onboard nand and that would work with upcoming CFW releases)?
My idea would be a something similar to the Epsilon bios in the UP nand: it redirects boot to the onboard nand normally or launches a recovery if a key is pressed on boot (L, R and left d-pad aren't possible). The recovery could restore both nands (usb funtions, flash files, format flash1 and install a firmware).
Maybe to complete it it could have the 1.5 firmware if needed (launched from the UP recovery or with another button pressed at boot). Sort of like the 1.50 POC. Could be usefull since it seems the 1.5 days are numbered and some older homebrew apps only work in 1.5 (man so many good projects died... What happened to Bookr?)
Just my ideas. Any soution would be great.
Would you please solve this one thing for good?
