Ok, I am sharing this here because I think it is important to get the word passed around on what findings have happened in the past 24 hours regarding getting back our modified xmb while working with Bstronga, Zingaburga, Vegetano1, GSmoke, AzumiUehara, and others to figure out what exactly is going on with the flash0 of the 3.71m33.
first of all the main reason why flashing doesn't seem to work properly is because the recovery of 3.71M33(including 3.60M33 slim)
has a bug probably 'caused by a porting error or being loaded in vsh mode.
i recommend using the extended pandora menu with usb flash access.
another thing of 3.71 is that they splited topmenu_plugin.rco into
topmenu_icon.rco which holds the icons and
topmenu_plugin.rco which holds the page/text resources.
now the tricky thing.
zlibed mig/gim icons aren't supported anymore in topmenu_icon.rco
but uncompressed still are (wth...)

i guess your RCOEdit needs an update
edit:
pspfiler has been reported not to work,
however if you want to test be sure you have a pandora battery!
OK....so now here are my tips.
1) If you want to try to flash something, DO NOT DELETE IT FROM FLASH0!!!! First rename the file to .rc or .pr. Then copy over your testing file. This way when it doesnt work, you can go back to flash0 and delete the bad and rename the good and you will have much less of a chance of corruption/permabrick!
2) DON'T try to use rcoedit or rcotool to make working .rco. Bstronga stated it above that the compression has changed in 3.60/3.71 and those tools no longer work.
3) If you dont mind bricking your slim psp DO NOT TRY TO MODIFY THINGS! There is no unbricker for the slim...only the fat...so if you dont have a pandora to use to access flash0 or to unbrick your fat, DO NOT TRY TESTING!!
I wanted to share this because after seeing the new posts of unknown people trying to figure out what is going on, and even more posts and pms tp me looking for backup of flash0 for their 3.71 because they deleted everything, or deleted somethings, I want you all to know that the kings of XMB, Bstronga and Zingaburga, ARE WORKING ON THIS!!

For a sample of what the psp is breaking during file transfer without doing harm to your flash files. Take a small .zip or .rar file with a few files inside and copy it to the flash0 and then try to open it from flash0. You will see that everything about the file is corrupt!!
For now...the risk of permabrick is probably close to 95% until cxmb/flasher/flash0 access is fixed on the psp slim!!
Your .rco may work a few times..but keep deleting and recopying and no one knows how soon, or how many rewrites before you can no longer replace that file with an uncorrupted version.
