Сообщение от soulburn I'm not sure, but Sony updates never were region-based. Try download US and JP 3.70 eboot, it's EXACTLY same file (1:1). I don't know why sony didn't release japanese 3.71, but I guess it's possible to install EU or US one on japanese unit.

But I don't want the US firmware, I wanna keep the japanese bonuses and the japanese butons (X/O).
I always made the custom firmware with the japanese eboot.
