Anyone looking to run Linux on their PS3, regardless of model, should read up on this right here. Just recently the "automagic" install method was deprecated, meaning there is a much better way to install Linux now, and not only that, these tools and this method now work with all PS3 models ... VFLASH, NAND, Fat, or Slim.
